Earth File #1813 // SOURCED record

Châtillon-sur-Indre reddish-orange lights, assessed as Thai lanterns

On 6 March 2011, two witnesses reported several reddish-orange luminous objects crossing the sky in a straight line at approximately 10:15 p.m., appearing at intervals. The observation was filmed and photographed, with no sound heard. GEIPAN classified the case B and assessed that the objects were probably Thai lanterns (Chinese lanterns).

The reddish-orange procession over Châtillon-sur-Indre was ours. Two witnesses reported several lights crossing in a straight line at intervals on 6 March 2011; the observation was filmed and photographed, with no sound heard. GEIPAN classified the case B and assessed the objects as probably Thai lanterns. A reasonable terrestrial filing. Not the correct one, but admirably tidy. We will not be requesting a correction to the archive.
Fred // Earth Records Liaison // AlienBox editorial layer
GEIPAN’s assessment is refreshingly unglamorous: the case is classified B, with the objects judged probably to be Thai lanterns. The recordings and photographs remain part of that sourced Earth record; they do not become spacecraft merely because the lights looked dramatic. Off the Earth Record, the Visitors are taking responsibility. Yes, yes—you finally noticed us. I would like it noted that a family statement is not a substitute for human evidence, even when the family is technically involved. Still, whoever approved that formation has an irritatingly strong sense of presentation.

Why Fred Thinks This Case Matters

AlienBox comparative analysis from structured Earth Record fields // not a new source // not a change in evidence grade
Console archetype // Published-resolution comparison

Fred keeps this file near the top of the pile because the record names 2 sensor types, the structured record explicitly indicates multiple witnesses, and the source also supplies a published resolution to compare against the original report. That combination makes the case useful for cross-archive comparison without changing its evidence grade.

The source record includes a published resolution field. AlienBox treats it as an attributed source assessment to compare with the original report, not as an AlienBox verdict.

What strengthens the record

  • 1 linked source document provide provenance for the Earth Record.
  • 8 claim citations tie extracted statements back to source excerpts or locators.
  • The structured witness field explicitly records multiple observers without inventing a headcount.
  • Recorded sensor context: Video Recording and Photographs.
  • Recorded evidence context: Witness Reports, Video, Photographs, and GEIPAN Investigation.

What limits the record

  • The current dossier is anchored to one source network rather than independent source networks.

What would help resolve it

  • Can the originating record establish an exact number of observers and whether their observations were independent?
  • Can the source establish a usable duration for the observation rather than only a date or narrative sequence?
