Source Authority

AlienBox does not treat every source as equivalent. Direct government or primary archival material can support a SOURCED Earth Record. Historical research archives, secondary compilations, journalism, or attributed witness material are generally retained as ATTRIBUTED unless the underlying primary material is independently established. Investigative material that is not ready for stronger treatment remains a LEAD.

Claim-Level Citations

The archive stages factual claims with supporting excerpts and source-document links. A claim must remain within the authority of its source. Missing, unavailable, unreleased, disputed, or unverified evidence is not silently upgraded into stronger language.

Case and Sighting Construction

Automated analysis may propose entities, claims, cases, and sighting candidates. Those records pass deterministic validation before graph promotion. Candidate sightings are reviewed for duplicate incidents, source authority, temporal precision, witness and sensor separation, and whether the material actually describes an observation event rather than merely catalog metadata or background context.

Factual Audit

Visitor and Fred drafts are audited against the approved Earth Record before publication. Unsupported human-world details, accidental evidence upgrades, composite claims assembled from unrelated source statements, or conflicts with the assigned AlienBox narrative posture block approval until corrected.

Ask Fred Grounding

For a public dossier, Ask Fred receives the current approved Earth Record as the only basis for human-world facts. Fred canon is supplied separately and may appear only as AlienBox lore/commentary. User questions and earlier chat messages are untrusted conversational context, not evidence. When the underlying factual-basis hash changes, AlienBox starts a new dossier conversation context rather than carrying stale answers forward.

Fred Canon

Recurring Fred lore such as Gorkon Outpost, the Haluke System, recurring associates, and named drinks is maintained in a separate canon ledger. Ask Fred may use established canon and may suggest possible new lore, but new suggestions are not automatically accepted into canon. Canon never becomes Earth Record evidence and is not presented as Earth astronomy or sourced human-world fact.

AlienBox Editorial Characters

The Visitors and Fred are AI-generated AlienBox editorial characters. They may claim that an event was ours, not ours, merely observed, unknown even to them, or disputed internally as part of the site voice. Those claims belong only to the AlienBox narrative/lore layer and do not alter the factual status of the Earth Record.

Revenue Independence

Advertising, sponsorships, affiliate economics, Stripe support payments, and DigiByte tips are kept operationally separate from evidence ranking and factual conclusions. Paid placement may buy clearly labeled advertising space; it cannot buy a change to the Earth Record or a different Ask Fred factual answer.

Corrections and Uncertainty

AlienBox prefers visible uncertainty to false certainty. Explained cases, hoaxes, disputed interpretations, conflicting analyses, and unresolved reports all belong in the archive when they are useful to understanding the record. New source material can change a dossier, but the supporting evidence should remain traceable.
