Earth File #1829 // SOURCED record

Mirande luminous-points observation

The GEIPAN record reports that two witnesses observed five to six yellow-orange luminous points moving silently in rapid, disordered curves around another fixed luminous point near Mirande on November 26, 2010, between 11:30 p.m. and midnight. The moving points suddenly went out, while the fixed point faded gradually. GEIPAN considered Thai lanterns and a pyrotechnic or electrical device as hypotheses, but classified the case C because of insufficient information.

Visitor Transmission // AlienBox editorial layer
We did not cause or operate the luminous-point event near Mirande. Your GEIPAN record reports that two witnesses saw five to six yellow-orange points moving silently in rapid, disordered curves around another fixed point on November 26, 2010. The record also reports sudden extinction of the moving points and gradual fading of the fixed one. GEIPAN classified the case C for insufficient information. This is reasonable. We recommend filing the unidentified cause under “not Visitors,” a category your paperwork has somehow neglected.
Fred // Earth Records Liaison // AlienBox editorial layer
This one was not ours. The GEIPAN record describes several yellow-orange lights moving around a fixed light, considers lanterns and a pyrotechnic or electrical device, then files the case as Category C for insufficient information. Sensible. The reported motion is interesting; it is not, by itself, an invoice from another star. With no instrumental data and the event too old for further witness searches, the label remains appropriately modest. Off the Earth Record: my old friend Sela Venn, a Velyrian, once treated a restricted observation corridor as “a suggestion” while drinking Red Dwarf Stout. She created a paperwork problem several desks wide. Sela maintains that parking beacons are written for less experienced pilots. She was not involved here. I mention this only because confidence and documentation continue to travel in opposite directions.

Why Fred Thinks This Case Matters

AlienBox comparative analysis from structured Earth Record fields // not a new source // not a change in evidence grade
Console archetype // Published-resolution comparison

Fred keeps this file near the top of the pile because the structured record explicitly indicates multiple witnesses and the source also supplies a published resolution to compare against the original report. That combination makes the case useful for cross-archive comparison without changing its evidence grade.

The source record includes a published resolution field. AlienBox treats it as an attributed source assessment to compare with the original report, not as an AlienBox verdict.

What strengthens the record

  • 1 linked source document provide provenance for the Earth Record.
  • 9 claim citations tie extracted statements back to source excerpts or locators.
  • The structured witness field explicitly records multiple observers without inventing a headcount.
  • Recorded evidence context: Witness Observation and Official GEIPAN Investigation Record.
  • The source record includes a published resolution: GEIPAN category C; lack of information.

What limits the record

  • No sensor type is recorded in the structured Earth Record.
  • The current dossier is anchored to one source network rather than independent source networks.

What would help resolve it

  • Can the originating record establish an exact number of observers and whether their observations were independent?
  • Did any radar, infrared, optical, telemetry, or other instrument record the event, and is that material preserved?
  • Can the source establish a usable duration for the observation rather than only a date or narrative sequence?
