Earth File #1907 // SOURCED record

Bordeaux reported luminous-light observation

The case records a 5 April 2010 observation in Bordeaux. A witness reported seeing a very strong, very elongated, stationary white light from a balcony, from which three yellow- and red-colored luminous balls separated and moved in different directions before the main light suddenly disappeared. GEIPAN classified the case C for lack of information; it considered Thai lanterns as a possible explanation for the luminous points, while noting that the cigar element was harder to explain.

Visitor Transmission // AlienBox editorial layer
Your archive reports that, on 5 April 2010 in Bordeaux, a witness saw a strong, elongated stationary white light. The witness also reported three yellow- and red-colored luminous balls separating and moving in different directions before the main light disappeared. GEIPAN classified the case C for lack of information; it considered Thai lanterns a possible explanation for the luminous points, while finding the cigar element harder to explain. We do not recognize the phenomenon either. Our files are, regrettably, no more helpful than yours.
Fred // Earth Records Liaison // AlienBox editorial layer
A sourced GEIPAN record, classified C for lack of information, leaves this one exactly where it found it: an unusual report with no adequate resolution. The lantern possibility may account for the luminous points; the elongated light remains an awkward remainder, and the missing detail prevents much useful testing. “Unidentified” is not a promotion to extraterrestrial, despite humanity’s persistent enthusiasm for departmental advancement. Off the Earth Record: even the Visitors do not recognize this event. It is not one of ours, and I checked. It does remind me of Brikk Tor, who once took a decommissioned courier pod joyriding after deciding the navigation lock was “more of a guideline.” He insisted the landing was technically controlled. It was not this, either.

Why Fred Thinks This Case Matters

AlienBox comparative analysis from structured Earth Record fields // not a new source // not a change in evidence grade
Console archetype // Published-resolution comparison

Fred keeps this file near the top of the pile because the source also supplies a published resolution to compare against the original report. That combination makes the case useful for cross-archive comparison without changing its evidence grade.

The source record includes a published resolution field. AlienBox treats it as an attributed source assessment to compare with the original report, not as an AlienBox verdict.

What strengthens the record

  • 1 linked source document provide provenance for the Earth Record.
  • 8 claim citations tie extracted statements back to source excerpts or locators.
  • Recorded evidence context: Witness Testimony and Official Scientific Investigation Record.
  • The source record includes a published resolution: GEIPAN classification C for lack of information; Thai lanterns were considered as a possible explanation for the luminous points,....

What limits the record

  • No sensor type is recorded in the structured Earth Record.
  • The structured record does not establish multiple independent observers.
  • The current dossier is anchored to one source network rather than independent source networks.

What would help resolve it

  • Can the originating record establish an exact number of observers and whether their observations were independent?
  • Did any radar, infrared, optical, telemetry, or other instrument record the event, and is that material preserved?
  • Can the source establish a usable duration for the observation rather than only a date or narrative sequence?
