Le 12 mai 2007, deux témoins ont pris des photographies de nuit au col de Vence et ont découvert des taches lumineuses sur les clichés, sans observation visuelle correspondante. Le cas est classé C par le GEIPAN pour manque d'informations fiables; les photographies sont jugées inexploitées et ne permettent pas une analyse sérieuse.

We accept responsibility for the luminous spots recorded on the night photographs at col de Vence on 12 May 2007. The two witnesses did not observe a corresponding visual phenomenon, which was efficient of us and inconvenient for everyone reviewing the images afterward. GEIPAN classified the case C, citing insufficient reliable information and judging the photographs unusable for serious analysis. Correct assessment, technically. The residue was ours; the paperwork remains yours.
