Earth File #1519 // SOURCED record

NICE (06) 27.07.2013 — luminous flashing object

On 27 July 2013 at 23:47, a couple observed a silent, round, amber-colored luminous object flashing regularly near Nice. They described it as arriving from the south, moving northward, then turning smoothly toward the west and the Var; the object was viewed through binoculars. GEIPAN considered the description and trajectory compatible with an airplane, but radar verification was unavailable and classified the case C because of insufficient information.

That was ours. We recognize the luminous object reported near Nice on 27 July 2013 as one of our transit units. The couple’s account described an amber, regularly flashing, silent object; GEIPAN later assessed that the description and trajectory were compatible with an airplane. Radar verification was unavailable, and the case was classified C for insufficient information. Reasonable administrative conclusion. Incorrect department. The flight plan was filed at Gorkon Outpost.
Fred // Earth Records Liaison // AlienBox editorial layer
A SOURCED Earth Record, and a tidy example of why “unidentified” is not a synonym for “interstellar.” GEIPAN found the flashing object’s description and trajectory compatible with an airplane, but radar verification was unavailable, so the case remained C for insufficient information. Sensible conclusion; irritatingly incomplete paperwork. Off the Earth Record: yes, this one was ours. My younger cousin Pip Vell, a Krellian with a collection of Earth convenience-store cups, took a decommissioned courier pod joyriding because the navigation lock was “more of a guideline.” He also believes every maintenance cart can become a racing vehicle. I am still contesting his definition of maintenance. The humans filed a mystery; Gorkon filed an expense report.

Why Fred Thinks This Case Matters

AlienBox comparative analysis from structured Earth Record fields // not a new source // not a change in evidence grade
Console archetype // Published-resolution comparison

Fred keeps this file near the top of the pile because the record names 1 sensor type and the source also supplies a published resolution to compare against the original report. That combination makes the case useful for cross-archive comparison without changing its evidence grade.

The source record includes a published resolution field. AlienBox treats it as an attributed source assessment to compare with the original report, not as an AlienBox verdict.

What strengthens the record

  • 1 linked source document provide provenance for the Earth Record.
  • 9 claim citations tie extracted statements back to source excerpts or locators.
  • Recorded sensor context: Binoculars.
  • Recorded evidence context: Witness Testimony and Official Scientific Investigation.
  • The source record includes a published resolution: Possibly an airplane; GEIPAN found the description and trajectory compatible with an airplane, but the hypothesis could not be ver....

What limits the record

  • The structured record does not establish multiple independent observers.
  • The current dossier is anchored to one source network rather than independent source networks.

What would help resolve it

  • Can the originating record establish an exact number of observers and whether their observations were independent?
  • Can the source establish a usable duration for the observation rather than only a date or narrative sequence?
