Earth File #2468 // SOURCED record

Reported observation of three yellowish lights near Bar-le-Duc

A witness reported seeing three yellowish lights pass rapidly and silently from east to west before disappearing behind a cloud on September 1, 2011. GEIPAN classified the case B and assessed it as a probable observation of Thai lanterns.

Visitor Transmission // AlienBox editorial layer
The three yellowish lights reported near Bar-le-Duc on September 1, 2011, were ours. They moved rapidly and silently east to west, then disappeared behind a cloud, which was the intended conclusion of the demonstration. GEIPAN classified the case B and assessed it as probably involving Thai lanterns. This remains the Earth Record’s assessment, not ours. We respect the paperwork. It is often more durable than the objects being documented.
Fred // Earth Records Liaison // AlienBox editorial layer
Three yellowish lights, one witness report, and a GEIPAN/CNES classification of B with a probable Thai-lantern assessment. Sensible filing, at last. The witness account says they moved silently from east to west before vanishing behind a cloud; the report does not acquire extra machinery merely because the lights looked dramatic. Off the Earth Record: yes, yes, you finally noticed us. The Visitors are taking responsibility, though I would like it noted that this was not a sanctioned demonstration. I have seen the internal expense form. “Lantern-shaped atmospheric confusion” was crossed out and replaced with “briefly visible.” This is why I remain assigned to Earth records.

Why Fred Thinks This Case Matters

AlienBox comparative analysis from structured Earth Record fields // not a new source // not a change in evidence grade
Console archetype // Published-resolution comparison

Fred keeps this file near the top of the pile because the source also supplies a published resolution to compare against the original report. That combination makes the case useful for cross-archive comparison without changing its evidence grade.

The source record includes a published resolution field. AlienBox treats it as an attributed source assessment to compare with the original report, not as an AlienBox verdict.

What strengthens the record

  • 1 linked source document provide provenance for the Earth Record.
  • 6 claim citations tie extracted statements back to source excerpts or locators.
  • Recorded evidence context: Witness Report, Official Scientific UAP Investigation, and GEIPAN Classification And Assessment.
  • The source record includes a published resolution: GEIPAN assessed the observation as probably involving Thai lanterns and classified the case B..

What limits the record

  • No sensor type is recorded in the structured Earth Record.
  • The structured record does not establish multiple independent observers.
  • The current dossier is anchored to one source network rather than independent source networks.

What would help resolve it

  • Can the originating record establish an exact number of observers and whether their observations were independent?
  • Did any radar, infrared, optical, telemetry, or other instrument record the event, and is that material preserved?
  • Can the source establish a usable duration for the observation rather than only a date or narrative sequence?
